GIZ
Abraham Kuuku Sam is an Advisor for Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Sustainable Development at GIZ. At GIZ, he manages the development and implementation of initiatives under the global project called “FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All”. As part of this role, he manages AI projects focused on capacity building, access to training data and ethical AI policy. Before joining GIZ, he co-founded the Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH) and he was the Director of Programmes and Professional Services. During this period, he was also Project Manager for the National Communication Authority’s Base Station Audit Project and Project Delivery Consultant for Gartner’s Ghana Telecommunication Survey. His 16 years of technology experience also includes working in Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone for Mobile Network Providers and vendors. He has also consulted for telecommunication giants, Ericsson and Huawei. He holds an MPA in Engineering and Public Policy from University College London (UCL) where he was nominated for UCL’s Global Excellence Awards. Before that, he received an MBA (distinction) in Engineering Management from Coventry University (UK) and a First Class in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KNUST. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Several of his articles on ICT have been published in the Business and Financial Times.
