Ato Micah is the Managing Principal of Maverick Research. He is a business leader and retail strategy expert with over twenty years of experience in market research and brand management in West Africa. He has advised senior executives of multinational companies as well as international donor agencies in Ghana looking to do business in West Africa.
Previously, Ato led Nielsen’s Retail Measurement Practice in Ghana and Nigeria, covering over 100 FMCG categories in both markets. He was also the Country Director for Ghana and Client Business Partner – Unilever, where he led significant growth of the Ghana business and the Unilever-Nielsen engagement across sub-saharan Africa. Ato joined Nielsen in 2012, having spent 12 years growing brands at Procter and Gamble (Cincinnati, OH) and Sun Products (Wilton, CT) and driving growth at Millward Brown (Fairfield, CT).
He holds an MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH.
